Explore Together

The United Nations shapes your world every day. The water you drink. The medicine you take. The peace you live in. Yet most of us have never seen it from the inside. Together changes that.

A one-of-a-kind immersive experience.

Born at the Portail des Nations, the future UN Geneva Visitor Centre, alongside the iconic Alley of Flags, "Together" makes the work of the United Nations visible, tangible and personal.

The UN and its forty agencies based in Geneva act every day on the world's greatest challenges, peace, human rights, the environment, sustainable development and prosperity for all. Yet the UN's work remains largely invisible to those it serves.

Over the course of a one hour journey through three immersive pavilions, visitors discover what multilateralism truly is, not an abstract concept, but a living reality.

One Hour. Three Pavilions.

Three pavilions, one continuous narrative — Language, Knowledge, Response — tracing how the United Nations turns dialogue into decision, and decision into difference.

Language

How six languages laid the foundations for cooperation among human beings across every continent.

  • A 270° projection bringing to life, in real time, the six official languages of the UN — alongside Italian and German.
  • First-hand accounts from key figures at UN agencies based in Geneva, including UNHCR, WHO, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, among others.
  • An invitation to experience the UN as the architect of peace — uniting minds around a shared ideal: multilateralism.

Knowledge

An invitation to discover how knowledge becomes collective action.

  • Discover how shared expertise rises to meet the world's greatest challenges.
  • When shared knowledge changes the course of history.
  • Proof that multilateralism works — and that it has already saved our planet.

Response

An invitation to experience firsthand what it means to act together.

  • Step into the role of a Member State and take part in a real multilateral negotiation.
  • Negotiate, debate, and build consensus.
  • Your vote can change the world.

A place where the conversation continues.

The experience does not end when the lights come back on. Café desNations is where the conversation continues — a quiet corner inside, a table under the open sky, in the company of people who came, like you, to understand the world a little better.

70 seats inside and 35 on the terrace · a garden + an Agora.

All Café des Nations menus can be added to your Together ticket at the time of booking — a seamless way to turn your visit into a full experience.

Breakfast

Arrive early, settle in before your session, and begin your visit with a relaxed breakfast. The perfect way to arrive unhurried and ready.

Lunch

Our lunch menus invite you to take a seat alongside fellow visitors at a shared table. Seasonal produce, Geneva-based suppliers, and a menu designed to suit every taste, dietary need, and cultural preference.

Aperitif & coffee break

Before and after our "Together" sessions, our aperitif and coffee-break menus offer a warm moment of sharing. A drink, a bite... and the conversation flows, in the spirit of the Portail des Nations.

Cocktail & dinner

For groups and special evenings.

Available for private groups and evening events, our cocktail and dinner packages transform the Café des Nations into an intimate venue for meaningful gatherings, with the Palais des Nations as your backdrop.

All menus can be pre-ordered online when you purchase your ticket for "Together". For group bookings and private events, please contact: reservation@portaildesnations.ch.

The Nations Gateway was generously donated to the United Nations by the Nations Gateway Foundation. As part of this donation, the Foundation developed and produced an immersive experience titled "Together," featuring a selection of contributions from United Nations entities in Geneva. This experience reflects the Foundation's creative vision and offers a new way for the public to engage with issues of concern to the United Nations. The United Nations expresses its gratitude to the Foundation for its support to the United Nations and for promoting multilateralism. The United Nations has agreed that the Foundation will operate the Gateway until the end of 2027. From 2028, the Gateway will be operated by the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and will serve as the United Nations Visitors Centre.
